Dear MIEPP students,
I hope this e-mail finds you well and that you are already looking forward to some nice and relaxing Christmas holidays.
In this newsletter, you will find some information on the upcoming exam period and more details about the core module registration. Besides the exam information, I have some news on our Double degree programs and two job offers for you.
Exam dates are officially set
The exam dates for the winter semester 2022/23 are now set and can be viewed in JOGU-StINe. In addition, the Study office provides an overview of all exams, sorted by study program, on their website: https://studienbuero.rewi.uni-mainz.de/wiwi/pruefungen/
Please note that any exam dates you may have seen in Jogustine during the semester were preliminary dates. As of this week, the dates are fixed. Therefore, please check the latest information.
You have also received an email with all important information about the examination period from the Study Office. Please read it carefully.
Should you have any questions about exam registration or face problems during the exam registration face, please get in touch with me. I can only help you while the exam registration phase is still open. The Study office cannot handle late registrations.
In any case, I would like to emphasize that you can choose between the first and the second examination date for all examinations. So you can also register directly for the second date during the exam registration phase (in January) without attending the first date. You should only bear in mind that if you only attend the second date and fail, the next retake exam will only take place in the winter semester 2023/24.
Core module registration
Please note that the preliminary dates for the core modules which I announced in the newsletter from 22.11.2022 did partly change. The Development & Growth exam in February has been shifted to 17.02.2023. However, it is still true that you can choose between the first and the second examination date for the core modules.
For all students who started their studies up to and incl. winter term 2021/22: You either choose the February or the March dates for the core modules (Int. Economics, Public Policy). When doing the registration, you will see an option stating "Written Examination with two parts (relevant 2 exam dates)", in German "Klausur mit zwei Teilen (zwei zugehörige Prüfungstermine)". You need to do only one registration for the Int. Economics exam which registers you for the Int. Trade and the Development & Growth part. The same holds for the Public Policy core module. You only need to do one registration to get registered for the Principles of Public Economics and the Adv. Marco part.
Double Degree Programs: Application deadline ahead
If you are interested in the Master Double Degree Program in cooperation with the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) or the new Master Double Degree Program in cooperation with the UCA Université Clermont Auvergne, France, it is time to use the open application period and submit your application until 01.02.2023.

Please note that only students in their first and second semester who are enrolled in the Master of Science in International Economics and Public Policy are allowed to apply for the Master Double Degree Programs.
