Student Representative Elections, Course Registration and Jobs

Von: FB 03 - Studienbüro

Dear MIEPP Students,

I hope you are all settling into having classes and meaningful things to do again (not that your life during the semester break cannot be meaningful) and are excited to learn all the things.

Today, I have the following topics for you:

-          Student representative elections

-          Extended class registration

-          Jobs

First and foremost, the term of the student representatives is up. New student representatives will be elected in the International Trade Course of Prof. Harms, coming Tuesday, October 29 at 9:15 am. in room 00 171 P4. While we are beyond sad to say goodbye to these student representatives, it is as always, time for the next generation. This program lives in large part not only through the materials and lectures you study but also through the friend – and fellowship of the students. A large aspect of this have always been the student representatives and without people to fill this role, the program would truly not be the same.

I know that it is easy to fall into the fallacy of diffusion of responsibility but if you can even imagine yourself being a student representative for one moment, please show up and run for this position. Even if you do not wish to become a student representative, please attend and vote regardless. In the end, the institution of student representatives is here to benefit you guys, so here is your chance to partake.

Secondly, as per usual, the module and lecture registration has been extended until the end of December. You should be able to register and deregister for classes freely up to this point.

Finally, I have added a lot of job openings to this email, (most of them from the Sachverständigenrat, although one is also for a doctoral position at the University in Tübingen) so many in fact that I feel it is useless to list them all and you can simply look at the attachments (in other words I am too lazy).

I hope you are enjoying the fresh winter semester, are more than overeager to learn new things and do other studenty stuff and come to the student representative election on Tuesday to announce your candidacy. See you there.

Sincerely,

Christoph Wirp
