Vacation, Exam Registration and much more

Dear MIEPP Students,
The days are growing shorter, darker and colder; the Christmas markets are opening everywhere and this year is slowly fading into the next one. And while your thoughts might be turning more and more towards the holidays, let me get your attention with an early end of the year newsletter, the last one this semester. This week I have for you:
- Vacation
- Introductory econometrics exam registration
- Seminar count
- Brownbag/faculty seminar
- Jobs
First of all, while there might be a certain attraction to the melancholy and merriment of the advent season; however, I will spent the advent season in the sun this year (#christmasTan). For that effect, I will be going on vacation starting December 9, meaning next week is the last week of office hours I hold this year. If you have anything you need to get done this year, please come by (early enough) next week and I will help you out. I will be back on January 6. Again, to drive this point home (and because I just love hearing it): there will be no office hours from December 9 to January 5. If you have anything urgent in this time, please contact the registrar’s office at studienbuero fb03 (at)uni-mainz.de
The registration for the Introductory Econometrics Exam Since I will not be in the country at this time, here is the reminder for. As this Exam will take place on January 10, 2020 from 10:30 - 11:30, the registration period will start December 9, 1 p.m. and last until December 20, 1p.m. If you want to take this exam, you have to register within this timeframe! Should you have trouble registering, send an email within the registration period describing the issue and stating that you want to register.
As every year, in order to plan the number of offered seminar more effectively, please write me an email with your name and matriculation number if you are planning to take a seminar next semester. Again, this is not a registration for a seminar, it is to help us plan the amount of seminars offered in the coming semester. This is also beneficial to you as there will be more seminars offered the more students indicate that they want to take a seminar.
Please sent this email to me until January 5 so that I can start the planning process with the professors early next year.
Furthermore, it has come to my attention that a lot of you are not aware of the research presentations going on or that you are not aware that you are able to attend. There are two main research presentations, the brown bag seminar and the faculty seminar. Both of them are of course open to MIEPP students so if you find a topic that is interesting to you, simply drop by.
