Dear MIEPP students, 

Today, for once, there are no subject-specific topics in this newsletter but I have to other announcements for you. 

Wanted: Member for the departmental council 

The departmental council (Fachbereichsrat) is a university body that deliberates and decides on matters of fundamental importance to the Faculty 03, e.g. changes in the program structure of the degree programs. It consists of professors, academic and non-academic staff, as well as students. The departmental council is currently looking for a new member from the MIEPP.  So, this is the perfect chance for anyone who wants to engage in designing university structures. As the working language is German, solid German skills are required. The council usually meets one to two times per semester. Should you be interested in becoming a member of the departmental council do not hesitate to contact me. Should you have detailed questions about the work of this body, you can also reach out to the head of the Study office, Daniela Förster (daniela.foerster AT uni-mainz.de). 

Student representatives' election

For the academic year 2022/23, you have the honour to elect new student representatives. Elections will take place next week, on 16.11.22, 10:15 in room P3 (Philosophicum) during the Principles of Public Economics lecture. 

I assume that David and Fio already shared some information with you in this regard. Nevertheless, I think that the right to vote is a great democratic right and therefore I invite you to go to the elections also through this newsletter.
