Dear MIEPP students,

I hope this newsletter finds you all in good mood, enjoying the summer time either in the sun or in the air-conditioned rooms on campus.

To have your full attention, we start this newsletter with the most important topic: exams and exam registration in the summer semester 2022.

After that, there will be one or two words about the seminars in the coming semester and my office hours this week.

Exam registration – Summer semester 2022

Please note that the exam registration period for the summer semester 2022 has started this week and ends on Monday, 04.07.2022, 13:00.

As you probably already know, this deadline is binding and we cannot accept late exam registrations. So please take care of your exam registrations in time and check them in JOGU-StINe while the registration phase is still running.

If you have any questions or registration problems, please contact studienbuero-fb03 AT uni-mainz.de within the registration period.

In the following you will find a summary of the most important points concerning the exam registration period and your exams. Please read them carefully.

• Within the registration period, 20.06.2022 to 04.07.2022, 13:00, you have the possibility to make changes to your exam registrations.
• In addition, cancellations are possible via JOGU-StINe up to 48 hours before the respective exam.
• You may choose between the first and second examination date in the summer semester 2022. This means that you do not have to take the first examination date in order to be allowed to register for the second date. For those who only attend the second date and fail, the next opportunity to retake the exam will be in the summer semester 2023, i.e. one year later. However, if you register for the first date and fail or fall ill, you can register for the second date (repeat examination) in the summer semester 2022.
• In addition to the main registration phase (20.06.22 – 04.07.22), with the publication of the grades of the first round of an exam, another registration phase will be opened in JOGU-StINe. This phase ends one week before the second examination date of the respective exam, and can be used for registration. For the second examination dates, cancellations are still possible via JOGU-StINe up to 48 hours before the respective exam starts.
• There will be no additional Corona attempt (Corona-Fehlversuch) for failing an exam in the summer semester 2022. This means if you do not pass an exam, you receive grade 5.0 and the attempt counts as one of your regular attempts.
• You can view all exam dates in JOGU-StINe. The time indicated there shows the respective exam starting time. Please arrive in good time in front of the examination hall. As a rule, admission starts 30 to 10 minutes before the exam begins.
• If applicable, the seat allocation for participation in the examinations will be announced via JOGU-StINe in good time before the respective exam dates.
• In the coming weeks, you will receive additional information on the rules to be observed during the exams in order to limit the risk of spreading the Corona virus.

Seminars WiSe 2022/23

For all those who have already thought about the research seminars in the winter semester 2022/23, a quick word on that:
The seminar will probably be sent out at the beginning of August and you will have, as always, enough time to submit your registrations.

Shortened office hours, 23.06.2022

And a short note about my office hours: The office hours on Thursday, 23.06. will be slightly shortened and take place from 10 - 11:30.
