Course registration, IMF Macro and Labour, ECB Trip

Dear MIEPP Students,
The semester has been going for a bit already now so I suppose it is high time for a newsletter. First of all, welcome to all new students, welcome back to all higher semesters. I hope you had a great start/great semester break and are fresh and ready to rock. The hot topics this week include:
- Course registration
- IMF and Macro and Labour II
- ECB Trip
The most important bit of news: As in the previous semesters, the course registration will be opened again until the end of the exam registration period (it should open either today or tomorrow). Thus you are still flexible in which courses to choose and can still switch later during the semester.
The courses “International Money and Finance” and “Macroeconomics and Labour” are not offered this semester, yet the exams will still take place. If you were sick or failed an exam in one of those courses last year (or the year before) you will be able to register for the exam during the exam registration period. Alas, the course registrations was open during the first registration period, but people cannot deregister from the courses themselves. If you are registered for this course for the first time, please send me an email and I will deregister you from the course.
The KHG (Katholische Hochschulgemeinde, Catholic Campus Organisation) is organizing a trip to the ECB on Monday May 7. While the guided tour will probably be in German, the trip might still be interesting and will be, most importantly, free of charge. I have attached the flyer to this email.
I realize that there are still some issues being ironed out regarding the overlap of courses and the size of tutorial groups. Sadly, I cannot simply fix all of this myself and am thus dependent on other staff of the university as well as the cooperation of the professors. This has taken longer than it rightfully should have but behind the scenes, I am still pushing for a resolve of the issues as soon as possible.
I hope you nonetheless have a great start into the semester, enjoyed some days of sunny weather and are motivated to cram all sorts of information into your heads soon.
